Tisbury Conservation Commission unanimously approved a boathouse relocation project aimed at coastal flood resilience. The project at 40 Goethals Way would move the existing structure eight feet landward and thirty-three inches upward to place it outside the FEMA flood zone. Commissioners Sarah Toste and John Best moved for approval of the relocation and enforcement against an illegally moored boat in Lagoon Pond marsh.
The commission also lifted a prior enforcement action on salt marsh mowing at 30 Ashtons Way after determining the activity predated the Wetlands Protection Act. Conservation Agent Sean Young submitted a $12 million state grant request for Beach Road seawall renovation.
