Finance & Advisory Committee · Meeting of January 7, 2026

Tisbury Finance and Advisory Committee voted unanimously to support S400, state legislation addressing Martha's Vineyard Regional High School funding formulas. Members Alex Meleney and Rachel Orr led the effort, with the letter directed to Senator Julian Cyr, House Ways and Means Committee members, school committees, and finance committees across Martha's Vineyard. The committee also reviewed the FY27 embarkation fee spending plan of $249,325, expressing concern that the roughly $270,000 in annual revenue remained insufficient for port-related infrastructure needs including road damage and water flooding.

Finance Director Jonathan Snyder, retiring from his position, placed a placeholder override article on the warrant, as statewide shortage of finance directors had left four of six island towns without directors.
