Finance & Advisory Committee · Meeting of February 4, 2026

Tisbury's Finance and Advisory Committee reviewed fiscal 2027 school budgets for three Martha's Vineyard education entities on February 4. Tisbury School's $11.3 million budget is up 6.89 percent, driven by contractual salary increases; the Superintendent's Shared Services budget rose 7.73 percent to $10.5 million; and the regional high school's assessed costs totaled $25.3 million, up 7 percent. Committee members flagged critical accounting deficiencies in town finance, recommending the town hire an outside accounting firm at an estimated cost of $1-$200,000 to train staff and complete financial backlogs, findings to be presented at a joint Finance Committee and Select Board meeting in early March.
