Tisbury Finance Committee unanimously approved a fiscal 2027 hiring freeze to restrict employee growth. Chair Nancy B. Gilfoy and the committee heard detailed budget presentations from Harbormaster Michael Gately and Water Supervisor James Cleary.
New Dockwa software and mooring expansion increased Harbor Department 2025 revenue by 35 to 40 percent, to approximately $130,000 in transient fees and $98,000 in leases. The Water Department reported a proposed $12 million replacement tank; the cost has nearly doubled since 2021, requiring 12 percent annual rate increases for four years. The committee deferred school-budget votes pending clarification of town finances and free cash estimates.
