Finance & Advisory Committee · Meeting of August 12, 2026
Tisbury Finance and Advisory Committee unanimously appointed John Best to the Sewer Advisory Committee. Best, a long-time member of the advisory body, will oversee sewer management as the town grapples with capacity constraints across its two districts. Applications for new hookups in the B1 District are being rejected due to insufficient capacity, with both commercial and private allocations completely filled.
A subcommittee including Best and Sewer Advisory Committee member Connie Alexander is developing new regulations to address policy inefficiencies. Tisbury cannot afford further expansion at an estimated cost of $60 million to $100 million.
